We value the trust you place in us and that's the reason we at SafetyConnect are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Notice describes how we collect, receive, use, store, share, transfer, and process your personal information.

We periodically update this Privacy Policy. We will post any privacy policy changes on the Website and, if the changes are material, we will provide more prominent notice by sending you an email notification. While we will notify you of any material changes to this Privacy Policy prior to the changes becoming effective, we encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

1. What Information We Collect About You

a. Personal Information

The term "Personal Information" refers to any information that can be used to identify you, including contact details like your name, email address, company name, phone number, and other details about you or your business. This can also include information about any transactions you may have made. We collect personal information when you submit web forms or interact with our applications, including subscribing to a SafetyConnect product, requesting customer support, and signing up with the SafetyConnect platform.

For SafetyConnect Mobile App we collect:

  • User Email ID
  • User Phone Number
  • User Vehicle Number

For SafetyConnect Web App we collect:

  • Admin User ID
  • Admin Phone Number

The SafetyConnect user mobile application leverages smartphone sensors including G-force Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, and Magnetometer to arrive at data on: Harsh Acceleration, Harsh Braking, Harsh Cornering, Over Speeding, and Phone usage while driving. This is used to arrive at user driving safety scores, improvement suggestions and trigger SOS and collision detection alerts with accurate location.

SafetyConnect collects location data from users of the SafetyConnect Mobile App while the app is actively in use (foreground) and while running in the background (where permitted by the user) to enable uninterrupted safety monitoring and incident detection. Location data is used for vehicle tracking, detection and analysis of driving behavior, calculation of driving safety scores, triggering SOS alerts and collision detection events, and identifying high-risk routes, regions, and driving behaviors. Location data is not sold to third parties and is shared only with authorized company administrators and service providers strictly for operational, safety, and compliance purposes.

b. Sensitive Information

This refers to credit or debit card numbers, financial account numbers, government issued identification numbers, biometric information, personal health information, and any other information that falls within the definition of "special categories of data" under applicable law. SafetyConnect does not collect or store any sensitive information.

c. Information About Children

The applications are not intended for or targeted at children under 16, and we do not knowingly or intentionally collect personal information about children under 16. If you believe that we have collected personal information about a child under 16, please contact us so that we may delete the information.

2. How We Use Information We Collect

We use the information we collect only in compliance with this Privacy Policy. We will never sell your Personal Information to any third party. We may use your Personal Information to: develop and improve our products and services; promote use of our services to you and share promotional and information content with you in accordance with your communication preferences; contact you about billing, account management, and other administrative matters; send information to you regarding changes to our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or other legal agreements; and investigate and help prevent security issues and abuse.

We post customer testimonials and comments on our Websites, which may contain Personal Information. We obtain each customer's consent before posting the customer's name and testimonial. If you give us payment information, we use it solely as authorized by you in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We use a third-party service provider to manage credit card processing, and this service provider is not permitted to store, retain, or use information you provide except for the sole purpose of credit card processing on our behalf.

We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. All Personal Information is protected using appropriate physical, technical, and organizational measures.

3. How We Share Information We Collect

We employ third-party service providers to provide services on our behalf and may need to share your information with them to provide information, products, or services to you. These service providers are prohibited from using your Personal Information except for these purposes, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. We reserve the right to use or disclose your Personal Information if required by law or if we reasonably believe that use or disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or comply with a law, court order, or legal process.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

SafetyConnect and our partners use cookies or similar technologies (such as web beacons and JavaScript) to analyze trends, administer the website and applications, track users' movements, and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

5. How to Access & Control Your Data

You have the following data protection rights: You can request access, correction, updates, or deletion of your personal information. You can object to processing, ask us to restrict processing, or request portability. If we have collected and processed your personal information with your consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time. You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information. You may unsubscribe from our marketing communications by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link located at the bottom of our emails. Customers cannot opt out of receiving transactional emails related to their account with us or the Subscription Service.

6. Information Security Program

Our application must be assessed for vulnerabilities and any vulnerabilities are remediated before production deployment. Application security assessments will be performed by delegated security personnel either employed or contracted by SafetyConnect. All findings are considered confidential and are to be distributed on a "need to know" basis. Security issues that are discovered during assessments must be mitigated based upon risk levels as defined by the OWASP Risk Rating Methodology. Remediation validation testing will be required to validate fix and/or mitigation strategies for any discovered issues of Medium risk level or greater.

7. Record Management Policy

Records are kept as long as legally and operationally required. By default, data is stored for one year or as per the customer's specific requirement. SafetyConnect has a proper Data Backup system to overcome incidents and disasters. Scheduled security checks and updates are performed on our backup system to protect our system from vulnerabilities. A proper audit happens every six months to make sure that guidelines and policies are being followed.

9. Face Data Collection

The Forklift FaceID App collects facial data, which includes mathematical representations of users' facial features captured through the device's camera system. This data is processed to create a unique facial map for identification and authentication purposes. Facial data collected by the app is solely used for authenticating users by comparing real-time facial scans with previously stored facial maps.

The facial data collected by the Forklift FaceID App is not shared with third parties, except as strictly required by applicable laws or regulations. The data is securely encrypted and stored exclusively on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers. Facial data will be retained as long as the user remains enrolled in the system.

10. FAQ

What is the purpose for which personal data is collected? Only name, mobile number, and email ID are captured for identification and authentication.

How and where is the information stored? The data is stored on SafetyConnect's cloud servers in Chennai and Mumbai. SafetyConnect uses the cloud services of Microsoft Azure.

Does the user have a right to ask the Data Collector to delete the information at any time? Yes, we can delete the information as per the user's email request.

How long will the information be stored? Once onboarded, the users data is stored until the term of the agreement, post which personal data is deleted.
